Pirates Week 2016 runs from November 10th to 20th 2016. The Sister Islands celebrate either side of those dates.

Every November the Cayman Islands host an annual Pirates Week Festival, complete with a mock-pirate ‘invasion’ from the sea!

Two old-time sailing vessels, loaded with pirates make a surprise landing at the bowl-shaped George Town harbour with the pirates capturing the Governor.

Thousands of people line the streets to watch the spectacle and its good-natured fun with a new twist every year. Families just love it. It's the only event of its kind in the Caribbean region. The festival then continues all week with parades, costume contests, music, street dancing, competitions, Heritage Days and fireworks.

Over the last 34 years it has become the country's largest celebration, drawing some 35,000 patrons. It now encompasses 32 different events which in the past have included eight street dances, five heritage days, a float parade and landing pageant, firework shows, song contest, two swim meets, a darts tournament, a steel band competition, kids fun day, two teen music nights, an underwater treasure hunt and two running races.

Rum Point, Grand Cayman
On the picturesque North Side of Grand Cayman, Rum Point has something for everyone's Caribbean beach vacation. While younger children have the advantage of playing in the clear and shallow waters, adults have access to the top  operators and beach bars providing some of the best food and drinks on the island.
In my opinion Rum Point is the best place to go. Rum Point is great, amazing and awesome.Rum Point, Grand Cayman
